Project Description:
The Gals of Galaday is the story of a girl trying to save the world from itself. And the only ones who can actually help her are "the Gals of Galaday". This isn't going to be one of those girly games, but instead, a much more indepth coming of age story. I went with a girl as the main character because I'm tired of seeing boys in the lead role, and most heroines now-a-days are rather "masculine".
Kathirynn Sandlot is the story's main character. She is a pretty seprentine gal with a mechanical right hand and left foot. The only real way to describe her is as a "Street Genius". Meaning that while everyone else around her has better grades and does well in school, she could whip their asses in the "real world". Along with her mechanical limbs (which are not bionic, just home-made) she has a nifty utility hairbow that can transform into a variety of things, such as a helicopter, an umbrella, loud speakers, and even a set of rocket boosters.
I would really like to use the Grand Theft Auto engine because of its open ended structure. And the locations Kathirynn will travel to will be immense. From the cliffside city of CliffHanger, to the heavily industrialized metropolis of Capitol point, to her own backyard, Kathirynn will need to set things right before the world goes to pieces. Despite the grimey industrial world, it is still a fantasy world with traffic dragons (used in place of traffic helicopters) and even winged police personnel. Magic will work alongside technology, allowing there to be flying cars and magic elevators.
Because my real specialty is music theory, there will be a big emphasis on musical interaction between character, player, and enviroment. So I will be working on the music for the most part.
