Vietnam | Glory Obscured ( formely Vietnam Reborn ) is designed to simulate the intensity of the Vietnam war, whether playing as the technologically superior United States Of America, the determined and tactical North Vietnamese Army or the resourceful Vietcong. Maps will recreate the real battles of Vietnam as well as fictional scenarios, creating jungle tactics very different to the original game.

Custom trees create realistic jungles, only allowing infantry to pass through thick areas blocking ground based units, unless your burn a path with Napalm or Agent Orange. Thick areas of jungle will camouflage your infantry, allowing for ambushes.You will feel like your are commanding Operation Flaming Dart or fending off waves of guerillas in the jungle; the action will be so intense, you can almost feel the heat from the napalm! Starting with 9 different infantry types per side and an original dynamic squad system, infantry in the focus of the mod.

All vehicles support the infantry as they would in real life, and require infantry to be most effective. Units such as the Marine Force Recon soldier has the ability to radio in Artillery Strikes, while Marine Snipers can hide in trees waiting for the perfect kill and medics revive fallen soldiers and heal the wounded.

The mod aims to have things realistic, while keeping the fun-factor of the original game. Infantry will bleed when hit, and are ripped apart by explosives. Whores will be in local villages, and infantry will not appear on radar. The Vietcong will lay traps; this is a game where you will have to think to survive.
