GameFlood Publishing Help

Have you seen all of the great add-on content on GameFlood and want to add your work to our library? If so, then you have come to the right spot! You have spent countless hours working to get your content working just right. It’s finally time to put your work in gamers’ hands! Lucky for you GameFlood streamlines this process, automating the download and installation of you content straight onto users’ computers.

How to publish your products:

GameFlood allows you to publish your content in a way that simplifies the installation process for users. You may choose to publish your files in one of two ways:

AUTOMATIC INSTALL

The files that you publish will be installable by the GameFlood Download Manager. This allows for advanced management functionality such as "Join Game", "Host Game", and the ability to automatically play a game by selecting "Play" from the web browser.

MANUAL INSTALL

Use Manual Install if the files you are publishing require additional installation steps or are too specialized to be installed automatically by our GameFlood Installation Manager. An example of this is a patch to a mod that you previously published or a mod that is packaged in an .exe file. With Manual Install, the only option users will have is to simply download the files. Documentation, such as a Read Me file, should be included with these files to help the user install your content correctly.

File Preparation

PLEASE NOTE: To take full advantage of GameFlood's automatic installation process you must package you mod in a .zip file that includes path information for your mods files. In other words, a user should be able to unzip the file into the base game directory and have all the files automatically put in the proper subdirectories.

.EXE Files

If your mod is packaged in an .exe installer you can simply upload the .exe to the GameFlood Publisher. Developers whose content is packaged in an .exe must enable the Manual Install option.

Uploading Tips

For huge uploads, we suggest you separate the files into smaller zips and upload each individually. In fact, you can come back weeks later, update just a couple of files, and all GameFlood users who downloaded the content with the GameFlood Installation Manager will automatically be updated next time they play.

Keep in mind that you are responsible for the content that you upload to GameFlood. We will delete any pirated, pornographic, illegal content at our discretion.
