GameFlood is the place to find and publish the best new playable content for your favorite games. We are a bridge between gamers and developers. Gamers can find new mods, mashups, characters, weapons, and maps to bring something new and interesting to their favorite game titles. Developers work better with our powerful Workshop project collaboration system, enabling them to publish their content through GameFlood directly into the game. Both gamers and developers can get new content into their games with our GameFlood Download Manager, which downloads and installs everything without all the hassle. Just click play and you're in the game.
Have you ever tried installing a mod for your favorite PC game? The process of manually placing files in the required directory’s can be tedious and time consuming. We have streamlined this process, making it as easy as clicking ‘Play.’ GameFlood grabs the necessary files for your content and places them in the required folders. All you have to do is press Play, we handle it from there.
For information about how to recover your password you can visit our Sign In Help. This page also provides helpfull information for other sign-in relataed issues.
When you click play on a mod or mashup, The GameFlood Download Manager will open and ask you if you would like to download the mod. Choose ‘Yes’ and The GameFlood Download Manager will download all of the files needed for you to play the mod. When The GameFlood Download Manager finishes downloading the files, you will be asked if you would like to launch your game. Choose yes, and the GameFlood Download Manager will launch your game for you.
That depends on many different things, one of them being your internet connection. A user with cable modem will obviously have shorter download times than a user with a dial up connection. It also depends on the size of the mod you have chosen to download. ‘Total Conversion’ mods will generally take longer to download than a mod which simply modifies script files. As a gauge, a mod that is around 300mb might take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes to download.
That’s most likely because there aren't any servers hosting that mod. If you would like to view games that are currently in progress, select the Live and Scheduled Games tab on the Games page.
It’s easy; just schedule a game with your friends. To schedule a game with friends, simply select “Schedule a Game” from the Play drop down. Select which friends you would like to invite and enter a few words about the game you are scheduling. Then choose when the game will take place by selecting a Start and End Time. If you know the IP address of your server, you can enter it into the Host ID field. If you would like to allow additional GameFlood members to be able to view your invitation select the Invite Everyone / Make Open Server option. To make your game invitation available only to those selected from your friends list, make sure to leave this option unchecked.
GameFlood makes setting up a game server easy. From the computer you wish to use as your server, navigate to the mod you would like to host on the GameFlood website. Instead of clicking ‘Play,’ choose the ‘Host’ option. The GameFlood Download Manager will then ask if you would like to download the mod you have chosen to ‘Host.’ Choose ‘yes’ and the files needed to host the mod will be downloaded and installed. When notified that your game is ready, choose yes, and GameFlood will launch your server. You may be required to enter additional information once the game launches, depending on which game you are hosting. Your server is now running and ready to use. If people are unable to find your server you may need to open some ports on your router. For game specific information about port forwarding see our information about port forwarding below.
GameFlood allows you to set certain server settings for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. To do this, click the Settings link anywhere on the GameFlood website. On your settings page you will see a Game Server Settings windowpane. Click the game title you wish to edit. The following page contains the settings you may alter. Some settings are simply set to ‘on’ or ‘off’. Other settings require you to set certain values. Choose the settings you wish and click the ‘save’ button. Now every time you ‘Host’ a Half-Life 2: Deathmatch game from the GameFlood website these settings will be automatically applied to your game server.
Generally port forwarding is done so the outside world can connect to some type of server that is located behind your router/firewall. Web servers, ftp servers, mail servers, and game servers are all examples where forwarding would be needed. Click on the game title below to learn how to forward ports for each game.
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Unreal Tournament 2004
Call of Duty 2
